Roanoke College hosted the 41st Virginia Association of Economists Annual Meeting March 20-21.

This year marked the first year for a student poster session. Several Roanoke College economics students participated in the session.

Tamara Smith presented her paper from the fall econometrics course examining the effect of the age rule on player longevity in women's professional tennis.

Congrats to all!

Spring Economics Reading Group Part 1

The first meeting of the Spring Economics Reading Group will be March 18 from 7-8:30 PM in West Hall  (room to be announced soon). Watch your email for updates.

There will be coffee and cookies provided.

Bring your copy of "Keynes Hayek" to the meeting.

Two questions for you to consider:

1) How do you think Keynes and Hayek would explain the recent financial crisis?

2) How would these views of the causes of the financial crisis frame their policy recommendations.

If you have not picked up your copy of the book, please stop by Dreama Poore's office to get yours ASAP!
